Software which is developed to manage all the activities of a hotel using online is called Online Hotel Reservation Portal. The activities of a hotel like dynamic hotel listing, updating the hotel details, customer can search for hotel rooms and can select a specific room, room reservation, list of bookings viewing and managing, different tariff plans calculation, generating daily/monthly reports can be managed by this new, proposed system.
This application is developed to give an complete solution for making automation of all the processes in the hotel management system. The processes include listing of hotels, searching a hotel from list of different hotels country wise, booking date wise and location wise, updating details of hotels, adding new hotel details, checking availability of rooms in specific hotel, room reservation, daily/monthly report generation of hotel transactions and records of booked rooms are tracking etc.. are handled by this proposed system.
Modules of Online Hotel Management System are given as following:
- Home – When a customer logs into the online hotel management system, home page will be get displayed to customer. This page has different links like search option for searching the hotel, view option for viewing list of different hotels all over the country etc.. In this system, based on booking date, category wise and country wise a customer can search the hotels.
- Hotel Details – After searching a hotel the system will display the available hotels for the given search conditions here. The customer can search hotel based on city wise, date of booking and country wise. It saves time of the customer.
- Reservation – The customer can book a hotel by filling his personal details like name, contact no, address, no of rooms, date of booking and payment details in the form given by the system. Then form will be checked and validated by system. After validation, a booking reference no will be generated by the system. The hotel owner and customer will get this booking reference no in their mailbox, which is sent by the system.
- View Reservation – By entering the booking reference no the details of the previous reservation can be viewed by the customer.
- Picture Gallery – The images of different hotels can be viewed by the user in this system. When a user clicks on a image the details of that hotel will be get displayed.
- Hotel Registration – The details of all the hotels like name of the hotel, total no. of rooms, address, facilities provided by the hotel, photographs of hotel, no. of floors, contact no, hotel’s rating will be entered by the owner of the hotel. These details will be checked and validated by this system. The validated details will be saved in the system and hotel owner will get confirmation mail from the system after saving that details. The details are checked by admin and approved details will be sent for listing.
- Login – The administrator and other system users can login in to the system by entering their username and password in the login page of the system. The system will check username and password and if it matches user can enter to the system to view details of hotels, book rooms etc.
- Change Password – The password of the system user can be changed by admin.
- Logout – The user can logout from the system by clicking logout link in the system. His session will be get destroyed by the system and default value will be set.
- Hotels – The details of the hotel can be edited, new hotel details like name, address, contact no, image of hotel and facilities provided by hotel will be stored. The size of the image should be in 150×150 pixels to attract customers and in hotel image folder, the image is stored.
- Reports – The system can generate report on total transactions on a specific date with hotel’s register no.
