Online Electricity Bill Payment System is the web application project that provides user friendly interface to the customers to pay the electricity bill. This System calculates electricity bill automatically and it simplifies the task. It also reduces the paper work. This Electricity Bill System proposes a computerized collection system which calculates electricity bill automatically and it simplifies the task and reduces the paper work. This system automates each and every activity of the manual system and increases its quality. The system calculates current bill, previous pending bill with penalty etc.

This project stores all customers’ records and their account details. The system calculates previous month’s bill, current month’s bill, tax amount, reading details, concession automatically. The customers can make payment for multiple accounts. Administrator can view all payment report and billing reports. Employees can manage customer and account details.

  • The system calculates previous month’s bill, current month’s bill, tax amount, reading details, concession automatically.

  • The customer can view bill report, Payment report and Balance details through online.

Moduels of the Project

  • Registration module: In this module the customer can register to the system by entering his profile details. The customer can login to the system after registration.
  • Account module:  Accounts are account number of electricity provider. In the accounts module the customer can add and view account details. After adding the account details it displays balance amount and paid amount automatically.
  • Invoice module: The administrator can add new invoice reports by entering reading date, consumption unit, bill amount, due date, etc. The system calculates net amount, penalty automatically.
  • Billing module: In the billing module customer can make payment by selecting the electricity account. To make payment customer has to select Payment mode, transaction type, Bank account credentials, etc.
  • Tariff plan Module: In this module administrator can add different types of tariff plans.
  • Dashboard Module: This module is for administrator and employees. The administrator can configure website details in the settings panel and they can check all kinds of reports.

User Classes and Characteristics :

There are 3 kinds of users for the proposed system:

  • Administrators: Administrator is the main user of this system. Administrator has full authority to access this website.
  • Employees: Employees can manage customers and their account details. Employees can access dashboard page with limited options.
  • End Users/Customers: The Customers can view their account and billing report.
