An online air ticket booking system is a computer program that allows users to search for and book flights over the internet. It typically includes a website or web-based application that users can access to search for flights, view available fares, and make reservations. The idea behind this site is to make possible to book an airline ticket from ones home through internet. The administrator of the site can add new flights, new destination, alter fares, manage user etc.The user can check flight timings, book a ticket, cancel a ticket etc.

About Online Air Ticket Booking System

The aim of this software is to make the process of managing the job of air ticket reservation easier and to give access to the travelers to book a ticket through internet.

Main and Login Page: The main page, neatly designed page, here login option is provided to login.  Also new signup option is provided to for new user to signup.

Ticket booking page:  This screen displays the required option to book a ticket

Registration Screen: This page contains the required options to register with the site

Administrator Page: This page is very important as this allows the administrator of this site to manage the different aspects of air ticket reservation related activities

Ticket Cancellation page: This page allows a customer to cancel his/her ticket

Flights Details Screen:  This screen shows the option to create new flights, timings etc .This page can only be accessed by administrator

Order Confirmation Screen:  This is the final screen in buying process. Here customer confirms the order.


Features of online air ticket booking system:

  • Fare comparison: The system should allow users to compare fares from different airlines and choose the best option for their needs.
  • Reservation and booking: The system should allow users to make reservations and book flights, including entering passenger information and paying for the tickets.
  • Itinerary management: The system should allow users to view and manage their booked itineraries, including making changes or cancellations.
  • Customer service: The system should include features for handling customer inquiries and support requests, such as a live chat or email support.

  • Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.

  • Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0 or later (optional).
  • VGA or higher monitor resolution.
  • Mouse or other pointing device.

Server system requirements:

Pentium III 1GHz or faster (Pentium IV 2.8 GHz with Hyper-Threading recommended).

  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6, Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2003. Note that Windows Server editions (Windows NT 4.0 Server, Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003) rather than Professional ones are recommended. For information on working under Windows XP Service Pack 2
  • Apache Tomcat 4.1 Web Server
  • Memory: 512MB of RAM (2GB or more recommended).
  • 1GB hard disk space (2GB or more recommended).
  • Swap file: 1GB or more.
  • VGA or higher resolution monitor.
  • Mouse or other pointing device.
